"The Professional Edge: Unspoken Rules of the Office" by Sue Morem (author, syndicated columnist, and TV guest)Thursday, April 09, 2009Special Meeting in Honor of Administrative Professionals Day/Week
There are unspoken expectations in every workplace; every office has its own protocols, both explicit and implied. While written protocol is easy enough to comprehend, implied protocol is a potential booby-trap for many people. In this presentation, you'll learn what your employer wants you to know, but is too uncomfortable to say outright. Successful professionals know these things and so should you!
• Inappropriate workplace attire
• Gender differences and realities
• Office romance
• Mixing work and play
• Dealing with difficult people
• Adapting to change, even when it is affecting you
• The office "family"
• Gossip
For almost two decades, Sue has been sought-after by organizations ranging from national associations to Fortune 500 companies. As president of Premier Presentation, Inc., a Minneapolis-based training and consulting firm, she draws on her own experience as a successful business owner, her extensive work with companies, and perceptions she generates from her weekly column.
Sue has created and been featured in nine internationally distributed training videos, has authored five books, and has been writing a weekly workplace advice column for over 15 years. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Chicago Sun-Times, Los Angeles Times and Glamour magazine. She regularly appears on a variety of TV and radio programs, including Fox News and CNN. Currently, Sue is a recurring guest on the CBS Early Show sharing her tips and advice for finding and keeping a job during these difficult economic times.
Sue motivates, educates and entertains her audiences through programs that inspire people with ideas and skills that help them gain the professional edge.

Living Your Capacity by Jodee BockThursday, October 11, 2007Have you ever heard someone say that you have a lot of potential? On the surface, that could sound like a compliment, but when you really start to think about it, what does that say about your current level of performance? If you have a lot of potential, does it mean that maybe someday you'll live up to it, but it's not happening now? Capacity is right here, right now. A 12 oz. cup of coffee has a maximum capacity of 12 ounces. If it is 100% full, it’s at capacity.
During this one-hour presentation, participants will begin to examine how much of their lives they are actually living. They will get exposed to organizations and individuals who are truly choosing how to live a life of capacity and will be given ideas for their own lives.
Jodee is a Certified Life Purpose and Career Coach who supports individuals and teams in succeeding in whatever they are committed to accomplishing. She is the author of "The 100% Factor: Living Your Capacity" and a co-author of "Don’t Miss Your Boat: Living Your Life With Purpose in the Real World.” She was also a featured speaker at the 2007 MN-ND-SD Division Annual Meeting!
